The Deoband Community Wikimedia is dedicated to contributing and shaping the global open knowledge movement, envisioning a world where every person has free and easy access to the sum of all human knowledge. Our vision centres on representing global Muslim academia, history, culture, heritage and scholarship across Wikimedia projects. As a Wikimedia Foundation affiliate, we closely align with the Foundation's vision statement:
We are committed to cultivating transformational leaders in our community to drive meaningful change in the open knowledge ecosystem. We advocate for open access by collaborating with Wikimedia communities, Muslim minority institutions, and academic centres. Our initiatives not only aim to make accurate information easily accessible and free for everyone but also address knowledge gaps related to our vision in the digital landscape.
