DCW Board

The DCW Board was idealised in our October 2024 - March 2025, for which we conducted surveys during November 2024, and subsequently decided on the requirements in the DCW Progress Prism January 2025. The first board will be elected prior to 31st March 2025, will have a total of eight members: five voting and three non-voting. The three non-voting seats are reserved for the representatives of our Wiki Clubs, and one-voting seat is reserved for the Founder. Elections will be conducted to select the other four members (two male & two female) to maintain a "40%" share of the females in our decision-making body.

Requirements

In order to be considered for candidacy in DCW Board Elections, which are supposed to run after every two years, the following has been agreed to serve as the basic criteria.

that the candidate has a fair understanding of Wikimedia ecosystem and our vision statement, and has preferably made 100+ volunteer edits.
that the candidate has a prior experience of leadership/management.
that the candidate holds at least an undergraduate degree.
that the candidate is not blocked on any Wikimedia projects at the time of the election.

Expectations

The Board serves as the highest decision making body at the Deoband Community Wikimedia.
