Call for Candidates: DCW Board Elections 2026. Submit your candidacy by March 5.

We are pleased to announce our call for candidates to fill five community member positions on the DCW Board. The deadline for submitting candidacy is March 5, 2026.

Established on July 31, 2021, and recognized as a Wikimedia Foundation affiliate on January 16, 2022, DCW has made significant contributions to the open knowledge ecosystem. Our volunteers have had a presence at Wikimania Singapore, WikiConference India 2023, WikiWomenCamp 2023, and Wikimedia Summit 2024. In 2025, we made our presence at the Wikimedia Youth Conference and the GLAM-Wiki Conference, and contributed to the Wikimedia Futures Lab in 2026.

Responsibility of the Board

For ensuring the sustainability and growth of DCW and its community, DCW Board will serve as the ultimate authority, overseeing the organization's decision-making processes and operations. Board members are expected to:

be familiar with the Universal Code of Conduct, the Affiliate Structure, the factors affecting the DCW's health.
be aware of the current trends in the Wikimedia ecosystem and developments around the Movement Strategy Recommendations .
maintain the affiliate health
Approve any new initiatives and programs

Guidelines for Candidates

To qualify as a candidate for the Board Elections, candidates must:

have a fair understanding of the Wikimedia ecosystem, and our vision statement
not be blocked on any Wikimedia projects
hold an undergraduate educational degree (or equivalent/relevance in their field)
not rely on AI models for refinement of their answers.

Interested candidates should submit their candidacy to moderator

dcwwiki.org by March 5, 2026, in compliance with the procedural guidelines.

Review and Voting

The moderators will publish individual candidate pages for the wider community to aid the voting process. Once published, the candidate pages will be accessible from DCW Board Elections/2026#Candidates. Voting will be conducted securely via SecurePoll, using the Single Transferable Vote (STV) method, from March 10 to 15, 2026.
