The Heritage Lens is an initiative of the Deoband Community Wikimedia that aims to represent Muslim heritage within the Wikimedia projects. It was initiated in July 2023, and its first iteration was held in and around Deoband, India, from 23 July to 25 July 2023. The initiative has been developed in response to DCW's Strategic Recommendations from February 2023. Under this program, we have formed collaborations with Mazahir Uloom Waqf Qadeem, a premier Islamic seminary in India, and with Project Korikath, a volunteer-led photographic initiative based in Bangladesh.
