Deoband Community Wikimedia is a community-driven initative, and offers free membership to Wikimedia contributors, and other open knowledge enthusiasts whose interests align with its vision statement. DCW maintains an active hierarcy of members, whilst keeping the Universal Code of Conduct regulations in view. These hierarchies are: Board Membership and Generic Membership.
Board Membership
Members to the DCW Board are elected every three years through elections. The board is the highest decision-making authority. Representatives of the board also enjoy the virtue of representing the DCW at events like Wikimedia Summit.
Generic Membership
Generic members enjoy all perks and benefits, and have access to community events, meetups and have equitable share in the decision-making processes. These include members of our Wiki Clubs, and participants of our several other programs. Their membership is facilitated by a group of our membership facilitators.
