The Deoband Community Wikimedia (DCW) was established on 31 July 2021, and convened as a Wikimedia Foundation affiliate on 16 January 2022. Over the years, DCW has significantly contributed to the open knowledge ecosystem and gained a significant representation at several Wikimedia spaces. Sustainability and growth of the DCW and its community has been demanding an executive board to oversee the decision-making processes.
