The Deoband Community Wikimedia (DCW) was established on 31 July 2021, and convened as a Wikimedia Foundation affiliate on 16 January 2022. Over the years, DCW has significantly contributed to the open knowledge ecosystem and gained a significant representation at several Wikimedia spaces. However, as we continue growing, we ask our community members to come forward and lead the decision-making processes, and make a difference!

However, as we continue growing, we ask our community members to come forward and lead the decision-making processes, and make a difference!


We are excited to publish our first call for appointing four community members (two males & two females) to the [[DCW Board]], which has been idealised in our [[:meta:Deoband Community Wikimedia/Activity plans/Half-Yearly Strategic plan for October 2024 - March 2025|October 2024 - March 2025 activity plan]]. The call will remain open until 8 March 2025, and elections will be conducted from 11 to 23 March 2025, through a Secure Poll on our website.
