DCW Board Elections are held every three years to appoint four members to the DCW Board, which consists of five voting members and three non-voting advisory members. Aafi, the founder of the Deoband Community Wikimedia holds a permanent seat on the board, while the non-voting advisory members are appointed from Wiki Clubs operating under the DCW umbrella. Through this election process, four community members (two male and two female) are elected to serve a three-year term on the DCW Board.
Requirements
To qualify as a candidate for the Board Elections, applicants must meet the following basic criteria:In order to be considered for candidacy in Board Elections, which are supposed to run after every three years, an eligible candidate has to qualify the following basic criteria:
- that the candidate has a fair understanding of Wikimedia ecosystem and our vision statement, and has preferably made 100+ volunteer edits.
- that the candidate has a prior experience of leadership/management.
- that the candidate holds at least an undergraduate degree.
- that the candidate is not blocked on any Wikimedia projects at the time of the election.
