DCW Board Elections are held every three years to appoint four members to the DCW Board, which consists of five voting members and three non-voting advisory members. Aafi, the founder of the Deoband Community Wikimedia holds a permanent seat on the board, while the non-voting advisory members are appointed from Wiki Clubs operating under the DCW umbrella. Through elections, four community members (2 male and 2 female) join the DCW Board for a three year term.

Requirements

In order to be considered for candidacy in Board Elections, which are supposed to run after every three years, an eligible candidate has to qualify the following basic criteria:

  • that the candidate has a fair understanding of Wikimedia ecosystem and our vision statement, and has preferably made 100+ volunteer edits.
  • that the candidate has a prior experience of leadership/management.
  • that the candidate holds at least an undergraduate degree.
  • that the candidate is not blocked on any Wikimedia projects at the time of the election.
