DCW Board Elections are held every three years to appoint four members to the e conducted once in a period of three years to appoint four members to the DCW Board, which comprises of 5 voting and 3 non-voting advisory members. Aafi, the founder of the Deoband Community Wikimedia retains a permanent seat in the DCW's Board, and the non-voting members are appointed from Wiki Clubs that operate under the umbrella of the DCW. Through elections, four community members (2 male and 2 female) join the DCW Board for a three year term.
Requirements
In order to be considered for candidacy in Board Elections, which are supposed to run after every three years, an eligible candidate has to qualify the following basic criteria:
- that the candidate has a fair understanding of Wikimedia ecosystem and our vision statement, and has preferably made 100+ volunteer edits.
- that the candidate has a prior experience of leadership/management.
- that the candidate holds at least an undergraduate degree.
- that the candidate is not blocked on any Wikimedia projects at the time of the election.
