Call for Candidates: DCW Board Elections 2025. Submit your candidacy by March 10!

We are pleased to announce our call for candidates to fill four community member positions (two male, two female) on the DCW Board. This initiative is a key component of our October 2024 - March 2025 activity plan. The deadline for submitting candidacy is March 8, 2025.

Established on July 31, 2021, and recognized as a Wikimedia Foundation affiliate on January 16, 2022, DCW has made significant contributions to the open knowledge ecosystem. Our volunteers have had a presence at Wikimania Singapore, WikiConference India 2023, WikiWomenCamp 2023. In 2024, we had a reserved seat at the Wikimedia Summit in Berlin.

Responsibility of the Board

For ensuring the sustainability and growth of DCW and its community, DCW Board will serve as the ultimate authority, overseeing the organization's decision-making processes and operations. Board members are expected to:

be familiar with the Universal Code of Conduct, the Affiliate Structure, the factors affecting the DCW's health.
be aware of the current trends in the Wikimedia ecosystem and developments around the Movement Strategy Recommendations .
maintain the affiliate health
Approve any new initiatives and programs

Guidelines for Candidates

To qualify as a candidate for the Board Elections, candidates must:

have a fair understanding of the Wikimedia ecosystem, and our vision statement
not be blocked on any Wikimedia projects
hold an undergraduate educational degree

Interested candidates should submit their candidacy to moderator

dcwwiki.org by March 10, 2025, in compliance with the procedural guidelines.

Review and Voting

The moderators will publish individual candidate pages for the wider community to aid the voting process. Once published, thee candidate pages will be accessible from DCW Board Elections/2025#Candidates. Voting will be conducted securely via SecurePoll, using the Single Transferable Vote (STV) method, from March 15 to 24, 2025.
