DCW Board

The Executive Board is the ultimate decision-making authority at DCW, responsible for overseeing the management and operations. The board comprises of a total of nine members: six voting, and three non-voting. One voting seat is reserved for the Founder, and the non-voting seats are reserved for representatives of our clubs. Elections will be conducted to select the other four members (two male & two female) to maintain a "40%" share of females in our decision-making body. Honorary members are appointed by the board itself.

Expectations and Responsibilities

The board members are expected to be aware of the Universal Code of Conduct, the Affiliate Structure, and the aspects affecting the health of the Deoband Community Wikimedia. The board members meet once every four months to discuss the challenges and appropriate solutions. Given that the board decisions are binding, the members are expected to be aware of any latest trends in the ecosystem.

The major responsibility of the board is to support decision-making. The board decides on the prospective areas where the DCW should contribute, approves/declines any proposed initiatives, and supports the sustainability of the DCW's current initiatives.

Quorum

A board meeting will be recognised only when attended by 4 voting members. Any resolution shall be successful when it gains the support of 60% (support from 3 voting members).
