DCW Board Elections are held every year to appoint four members to the DCW Board, which consists of five voting members and three non-voting advisory members. Aafi, the founder of the Deoband Community Wikimedia, holds a permanent seat on the board, while the non-voting advisory members are appointed from the Wiki Clubs operating under the DCW umbrella. Through the election process, four community members (two male and two female) are elected to serve a one-year term on the DCW Board.
Requirements
To qualify as a candidate for the Board Elections, candidates must meet the following basic criteria:
- The candidate should have a fair understanding of the Wikimedia ecosystem and our vision statement, and must have contributed at least 100 volunteer edits.
- Prior experience in leadership or management roles is preferred.
- The candidate must hold at least an undergraduate degree or a degree of relevance in their field.
- The candidate must not be blocked on any Wikimedia projects at the time of the election.
