The '''DCW Board''' was idealised in our [[:meta:Deoband Community Wikimedia/Activity plans/Half-Yearly Strategic plan for October 2024 - March 2025|October 2024 - March 2025]], for which we conducted surveys during November 2024, and subsequently decided on the requirements in the [[DCW Progress Prism January 2025]]. The first board will be elected prior to 31st March 2024, will have a total of eight members: five voting and three non-voting. The three non-voting seats are reserved for the representatives of our Wiki Clubs, and one-voting seat is reserved for the Founder. Elections will be conducted to select the other four members (two male & two female) to maintain a "40%" share of the females in our decision-making body.

In order to be considered for candidacy in [[DCW Board Elections]], which are supposed to run after every two years, the following has been agreed to serve as the basic criteria.

==Expectations==
===Expectations and Responsibilities===
The Board serves as the highest decision making body at the [[Deoband Community Wikimedia]].
The board members are expected to be aware of the Universal Code of Conduct, the Affiliate Structure, and the aspects affecting the health of the Deoband Community Wikimedia. The board members meet once every four months to discuss the challenges and appropriate solutions. Given that the board decisions are binding, the members are expected to be aware of any latest trends in the ecosystem.
 
The major responsibility of the board is to support decision-making. The board decides on the prospective areas where the DCW should contribute, approves/declines any proposed initiatives, and supports the sustainability of the DCW's current initiatives.
 
===Quorum===
A board meeting will be recognised only when attended by 4 voting members. Any resolution shall be successful when it gains the support of 60% (support from 3 voting members).
