Leadership Transition: Wiki Club Jamia is looking for a vibrant COT

Our earliest student-led Wiki Club, Wiki Club Jamia, is looking for a vibrant organising team!
, DCW Executive Board. Keywords: Wiki Club Jamia

Wiki Club Jamia is the earliest Wiki club established under the umbrella of the DCW, as a part of the Leadership Development and Skills Infrastructure Program. It was founded together in collaboration with the English Researchers' Collective (Eng Res Co) on 29 October 2023, coinciding with the 103rd Foundation Day of the university. The club currently stands at a crossroads with no active organising team. Its first informal COT was disbanded by the DCW Executive Board on 20 April 2025 due to several parameters, including inactivity.

Over less than two years, Wiki Club Jamia organized several online and offline events, including Taking Wiki Club Jamia Ahead, in collaboration with the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS) and the Department of English at Jamia. Two founding female members of the club were awarded full scholarships by CIS for attending their first ever She Leads Bootcamp, in Bangalore, in January 2025, while another member received a full scholarship to attend the Youth Conference, that took place in Czech Republic, Prague, from May 16 to 18, 2025.

Leadership Transition

Evolvement and transition in leadership are important to keep any initiative or program thriving. We invite active members of Wiki Club Jamia and other regular students at the university to support the growth and sustainability of Wiki Club Jamia. The team will comprise a total of five core members, with one of them assuming the responsibility of the "Club Lead". The Lead will serve as a Point of Contact (PoC) between the club and the DCW Executive Board, while the entire core organising team will contribute to shaping the future of the club, starting from organising events, workshops, competitions, and else.

Eligibility and application

Regular bonafide students of Jamia Millia Islamia, who have an interest in events, knowledge, technology, and management, are advised to apply. The club lead will be appointed through a consensus formed between all of the core organising team members, once established.
